Claire and Taylor wanted to help distance learners develop a sense of belonging and community by promoting discussion and interaction through the digital learning environment.

Claire and Taylor encouraged students to use methods such as Blackboard discussion boards, Panopto-based vlogs, Connect webinars and Skype sessions to engage with each other and the member of teaching staff. Students created video logs summaries of their dissertations that were shared with other students.
